As early as the ancient Silk Road, Chinese silk was famous in the world by the way of jacquard weaving. The process of jacquard originated from the original waist machine cross-stitch, jacquard patterns have been found in fabrics unearthed in the Shang Dynasty, and the jacquard weaving patterns of this period are mostly straight diamond patterns, back patterns, "cup patterns" and the geometric variants of the straight shape of these patterns.
In the Qin and Han Dynasties, on the basis of the geometric patterns of the pre-Qin Dynasty, the silk jacquard fabric patterns were added with small flower patterns such as birds and beasts, clouds and a few plants. In the Sui and Tang dynasties, lotus, curly grass, sketched group flowers and other shapes were full, and the round large back plant patterns suddenly appeared on the silk jacquard fabric, and the plant patterns appeared rich and colorful style characteristics. To the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, the silk jacquard fabric patterns were natural and smooth, delicate and fine.
